Green initiativeBeing good to our environment
This grassroots approach allows each office to take steps that make sense on a local level. Our common philosophy in all locations is that every associate can make a difference through decisions they make on a daily basis.
Drought tolerant, native plants beautify the San Antonio Campus.
Associates drive new initiativesOur green practices are as varied as our office locations.
Multiple offices in Asia provide reusable china instead of paper goods in lunch and break rooms, while many in North America offer cups, plates and utensils made from biodegradable corn and potato starch instead of paper.
Solar panels power the data center and all central plant operations on our Irvine Campus.
Resource-efficient buildings are our standardOur goals are to create aesthetically appealing and resource-efficient buildings, and to encourage energy-efficient operating procedures. We use renewable materials and energy-efficient equipment throughout our facilities, and reclaimed water is generally used for landscaping. In our Irvine, California, office, a one-megawatt solar energy system provides nearly 50% of the energy used to run our data and central plan equipment. See how much solar energy is being created right now. Earth-friendly food served in our cafésBon Appétit, our North American café operator, partners with local growers’ collectives to provide fresh, pesticide-free, sustainably grown fruits and vegetables that are transported to the Capital Group offices in biodiesel-powered trucks. |
